New Horological Group Emerges in the Maritimes: The Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (MAWCC)
The Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (MAWCC) held its inaugural meeting on November 2-3, 2019, in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Five members attended this historic gathering, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the horological community of the Maritime provinces.
The MAWCC was inspired by attending the NAWCC convention and chapter meetings in Ottawa, Ontario. However, it is important to note that the Maritime Association is not currently affiliated with the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC), which is an American-based clock and watch group.
The group chose the name MAWCC and aims to foster social interaction, share experiences, mentor each other, learn new techniques, provide opportunities to acquire clocks/watches, and encourage the preservation of vintage and antique clock and watch collections. The MAWCC is open to new members who share an interest in vintage and antique clock and watch collecting and repair, regardless of their skill level.
Currently, the group is not affiliated with the NAWCC, but they are considering the possibility of establishing representation in the Maritime provinces of Canada. In the meantime, the group has stayed connected through email, and they have agreed to no less than 2 meetings per year, with sub-groups potentially meeting more frequently.
For more information about the MAWCC, please contact Wendell Feener at [email protected]. It should be noted that, as of now, there is no publicly available current information or mention of a "Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (MAWCC)" in recent search results or horological community reports.
If you are seeking information about the NAWCC, it remains active with annual conventions attracting global members, a headquarters with the National Watch and Clock Museum and School of Horology, educational events, vendor markets, lectures, and restoration forums. The NAWCC's upcoming activities, meetings, and educational programs can typically be found on their official channels.

The Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (MAWCC), while not currently affiliated with the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC), is inspired to nurture vintage and antique clock and watch collecting among its members. It encourages interactions, knowledge sharing, acquisition opportunities, and the preservation of vintage clocks as part of the home-and-garden lifestyle. Interested individuals are welcomed to join the MAWCC regardless of their skill level.
