Artfully restored café-restaurant "Anna Maria" unveiled at Kunstpalast, Dusseldorf
Following the ongoing renovations at the Kunstpalast in Ehrenhof, a new culinary experience is set to debut in November. The upcoming restaurant, named "Anna Maria," will be managed by Saban Emini and Joakim Olsen, offering visitors an extensive menu that includes small snacks during museum visits, lunch options, coffee and cake, and an evening menu. The extension of Anna Maria's hours surpasses those of the museum, allowing dining even during events in the Robert Schumann Hall.
Initially envisioned during the Museum's renovation plans, the gastronomic offering aims to provide visitors a relaxing break amidst the museum's exhibits. Felix Krämer, the Museum's General Director, expressed his delight in welcoming Emini and Olsen, who will bring a warm, inviting atmosphere to the Kunstpalast.
Saban Emini boasts over three decades of culinary experience, having successfully led the Sabans Café & Restaurant in Fischerstraße until mid-2022. Joakim Olsen brings expertise in commercial and marketing aspects. Their plans entail offering dishes made largely from regional ingredients, with a Mediterranean touch from Emini. Homemade cakes, coffee, and select wines are also on the menu.
According to Olsen, Anna Maria will be open throughout the day, offering continuous food options for a quick bite, business lunch, or evening meal. Both Emini and Olsen emphasize their goal of creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable and can find something suitable for their tastes. The new restaurant will feature approximately 140 indoor and outdoor seats.
The Kunstpalast, located in Ehrenhof, Düsseldorf, is a cultural center showcasing an array of exhibitions. The latest exhibitions and events include a display running from March 12, 2022, to August 3, 2025. Regular operating hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with extended hours on Thursdays until 9:00 PM.
