Alte Ziegelei Park Transforms for 2027 Garden Show
The 'Alte Ziegelei' national park area is undergoing a transformation ahead of the Internationale Gartenausstellung 2027. The responsible architect or project leader has not been revealed yet. The Department of Urban Greenery, working with the Westphalia and Lippe State Association of the German Association of Small Gardeners, has initiated the redesign.
At the heart of the redesign is a semicircular dry stone wall, crafted from Ruhr sandstone. This wall serves as the core of a 'Green Classroom', set to host environmental education and events for the State Association of Small Gardeners and other enthusiasts.
The project also involves the creation of new paths and two ecologically valuable habitats. A dry grassland area and a wet meadow have been established to encourage local biodiversity.
The redesign of the 'Alte Ziegelei' national park area is well underway, with a focus on promoting biodiversity and enhancing the visitor experience. The central dry stone wall and new habitats are set to enrich the park's ecosystem and offer educational opportunities for all.
