In the heart of Horb-Nordstetten, a new chapter has begun at the local butcher shop. For about three weeks, 25-year-old butcher Lars Nannt has been running his one-man Shopify operation, and it's already making waves among the residents of Nordstetten and the surrounding area.
Nannt's store, which operates as a self-service shop, offers a variety of fresh produce, homemade sausages, and meats, all vacuum-packed in different sizes. The self-service concept saves time and staff, which is currently in high demand.
The popularity of Nannt's meat and sausage products is not a surprise, as they have long been a favourite in the village. One of the most sought-after items in his store is the reintroduced Singer's Black Forest ham, a favourite that the residents missed dearly after the previous owner, Alexander Singer, had to close his shop due to a staff shortage.
Nannt's lifelong passion for meat processing, preparation, and the right smoking process dates back to his teenage years. Before taking over the butcher shop, he learned the trade from Singer himself, who revealed his secret recipes to the new owner. The name of the former owner is not publicly available.
Customers can enter the store by opening the door with their bank cards, helping themselves to the products, and scanning them at a screen for payment with their EC card. A surveillance camera records the transaction to ensure all products are paid for. The store operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing convenience for customers at all hours.
Orders for Nannt's products are piling up, suggesting better-than-expected business. The meat and sausage products offered by Nannt were already popular in the village, and the reintroduction of Singer's Black Forest ham has only added to the shop's appeal.
Despite the success, Nannt's dream is far from over. He is fulfilled by running his butcher shop, and his passion for the trade continues to drive him. As he continues to serve the community with quality meats and sausages, it's clear that Nannt's butcher shop is here to stay.
