Harry Potter Apprentices Build Mobile Food Distribution Vehicle for Local Hero
Harry Pfau, a long-standing figure in Stuttgart's food rescue efforts, is beaming with joy over his latest acquisition: a unique deployment vehicle, aptly named "Harry's Bude - Eat Fair Share". This innovative vehicle, which resembles a mobile ice cream stand, was built by ten Porsche apprentices and is now part of Pfau's fleet.
The idea for the Fairshare Vehicle was born during volunteer shifts with Porsche employees and Pfau. The vehicle, with its three-dimensional design and a space for rescued food, boxes, bags, or even a sink, will be used to distribute rescued food and raise awareness about food waste.
The Porsche apprentices spent their craftsmanship training on the construction of the Fairshare Vehicle, investing approximately 700 work hours into the project. The vehicle is equipped with a Bimini top for protection from sun and rain, and it has already been used as a reception desk for a "Rescue Dinner".
Harry Pfau's "Bude" at St. Maria in the city center is a beacon of hope for many, distributing rescued food to those in need since 2020. The vehicle was handed over to Pfau by Porsche apprentices and representatives of the initiative Suppoptimal of the Stuttgart Citizen Foundation.
In addition to its primary function, the Fairshare Vehicle will also be used at actions of "supp_optimal Eat for all". This initiative aims to promote sustainable eating habits and reduce food waste.
Harry Pfau, who has been rescuing and distributing food in Stuttgart for almost five years, is grateful for the support. The Fairshare Vehicle is a testament to the power of collaboration and the difference that can be made when individuals and businesses come together for a common cause.
