Kazan owners to introduce a new eatery called 'PEPE'. The name, a nod to the common abbreviation ПП signifying 'proper nutrition', will be amongst 17 establishments set to open in Russia.

A new health-focused eatery has made its debut in Ekaterinburg, promising to contribute to the well-being of its patrons.

A health-focused café named "PEPE" is set to debut in Yekaterinburg's capital, offering nutritious breakfast and lunch options. The vibrant establishment prides itself on catering to various preferences, with vegan options included. According to the franchise's website, the menu will emphasize low sugar content, optimal macro balance, and natural ingredients, catering to diverse dietary needs while maintaining an appealing aesthetic for social media.

PEPE's unique selling point is its own-brand products, such as frozen echpochmaks and PP-suffles. The franchise's Kazan-based founder, entrepreneur and blogger Gulnara Galimova, shared her passion and investment in the project. Ilias Valiullin, founder of Mята Lounge, serves as the development partner. The duo aims to collaborate with local suppliers in each city to promote local products and naturalness.

Currently, there are three PEPE cafés - one in Ufa and two in Kazan. Seventeen more are slated for opening soon across various cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Novokuznetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, and Yoshkar-Ola. By 2028, the ambitious duo aims to open 350 PEPE cafés across Russia.

PEPE offers comprehensive support to its franchisees, including social media promotion and design project development. The interiors, featuring bright colors such as pink, are designed to appeal to a wide audience.

Yekaterinburg, known for its experiments in healthy eating, is soon to welcome another health-focused establishment alongside existing favorites like ZOJ and vegan cafes such as "I Love and Thank", "We Are", "Just Veganeat". While the exact opening date for PEPE in Yekaterinburg remains unknown, it will face competition from seasoned local healthy eating veterans.

In a separate development, the large home improvement store network "Petrovich" is poised to enter Yekaterinburg, planning to open its first shopping center in the Solnechny microdistrict near EKAD.

The growing interest of Ural residents in authentic cuisine, despite eating onigiri at seemingly low prices, is a separate but interesting topic covered by DK.RU in its recent articles. The relevance of this information to the PEPE café expansion plans is tenuous and shall not be elaborated upon here.

  1. PEPE's menu, set to debut in Yekaterinburg, will not only offer nutritious breakfast and lunch options but also emphasize low sugar content, optimal macro balance, and natural ingredients, making it an ideal choice for those following a healthy diet.
  2. In addition to its focus on science-based nutrition, PEPE plans to sell its own-brand products like frozen echpochmaks and PP-suffles, adding a unique touch to its offerings.
  3. To maintain an authentic and natural feel, PEPE aims to collaborate with local suppliers in each city, promoting local products and adhering to a healthy-cooking philosophy.
  4. With plans to open 350 cafés across Russia by 2028, PEPE is poised to join the ranks of established health-focused eateries in Yekaterinburg like ZOJ and various vegan cafes, such as "I Love and Thank", "We Are", and "Just Veganeat".
  5. Beyond the culinary scene, Yekaterinburg is also gearing up for the arrival of Petrovich, a large home improvement store network, which plans to open its first shopping center in the Solnechny microdistrict near EKAD, diversifying the city's lifestyle and food-and-drink options.
